Support Our Fall Fundraising Campaign
Today the Library is faced with tightening budgets and an incredible demand for books and resources. More people are visiting our libraries than ever before, and last year our circulation of materials grew by 20%!
During hard times the true value of the Library shines through. More and more people appreciate the information and services we offer – everything from public computers to free programs with celebrated authors and artists.
But the Library’s budget is stretched as far as it will go. Currently the mayor’s proposed 2010 budget contains $2.6 million in cuts to the Library—including reducing hours at 21 neighborhood libraries so they would be closed every Friday and Sunday. That’s a 23% reduction in open hours systemwide.
Your donation to The Seattle Public Library is an investment that will pay great dividends for you, your family, your neighbors, and thousands of others.
